Meet our Coaches:

Strength and conditioning – Ben Silvers, Performance Trainer - FITLIFE

Ben's diverse background in training ranges from high end professional, Olympic, collegiate, and high school all the way to sports rehab to group fitness classes.  Ben was the director of sports performance at his previous gym in Virginia before joining FITLIFE. He has trained softball athletes ranging from high school to collegiate and professional levels. Pitchers that he has trained have gone on to play at colleges to include; Florida State, Purdue, Boston College, and James Madison University, and Shippensburg. Other softball athletes who have trained with Ben have played at James Madison University, Boston College, Longwood University, Stanford, University of Dallas, Georgetown, Christopher Newport, Uconn, Lehigh, and Jacksonville.  His understanding of baseball and softball mechanics has benefited MLB Draft Picks for the (Padres, Phillies, Orioles), and MLL Draft Picks for the Florida Launch

 

Pitching - Cheryl Flavin – Owner/Pitching instructor – Powher Pitch

A Central Bucks East Graduate, coach Cheryl was four-year starter at Division I University of Delaware, serving as team captain for both her junior and senior seasons.  She then accepted a position as a pitching coach for the D1 Temple University team. She has been coaching clinics, camps and individuals for over 25 years. She has had the privilege of coaching and training with some of the nation’s best pitching coaches, mastering teaching the mechanics of safe and effective pitching motion. Her pitchers have gone on to participate in all levels of collegiate play.  Most recently Cheryl has opened Powher pitch, where she coaches some of the most accomplished and dominating pitchers in the area.

 

Pitching - Gretchen Koenig Sloan – Pitching Instructor – Powher Pitch

After earning numerous honors at Council Rock, coach Gretchen went on to be a four-year starter at the University of South Carolina from 1985-1988.  During that time she dominated earning various all-tournament and MVP honors.  Career highlights there include competing in the NCAA D1 regional softball tournament, earning First Team All South Region and NCAA Division One ALL AMERICAN honors in 1988.Gretchen’s coaching experience is equally impressive.  She worked as a pitching coach at the University of South Carolina from 1988-1989.  After returning to the Bucks County area she continued to coach at the George school and then at her alma mater, Council Rock. She has coached at various softball camps and clinics throughout her career focusing on how to increase speed.
